We maintain an Advisory Board, and also a network of psychologists involved in testing. We send courses to that network at various stages of development and solicit feedback about the courses to make sure they're at an appropriate level for consumers. In the interest of transparency, our testing network often receives CE access to courses they provide feedback for, but it's not a rubber stamp. They're invested in making the content as challenging as possible - that's their job, and only of benefit to them when they take it at the end for the same credit you receive.

APA Accreditation is exceptionally thorough. They basically require you to demonstrate from start to finish on a CE program that you are committed to high-level, empirically sound, and non-biased training content that helps move the field forward. The application process means demonstrating your systems for developing and then selling course material, and you have to keep demonstrating that commitment through re-accreditation every year. Programs that do that get the leeway to develop trainings and provide CE certificates that have APA "sponsorship," but even then we maintain responsibility for all material, content, or failures to comply. We take our commitment to APA seriously, and work hard to remain in good standing at each renewal period.

In an increasingly connected world, streaming and on-demand options are more and more the norm. It’s hard to beat the convenience of logging in when and where you want – between a no-showed appointment or on the train to dinner. But beyond the every-day convenience for everyone, a huge piece of the decision to create on-demand trainings is to increase access. And this can mean physical access, for people in underserved areas. Financial access, to save people the costs of travel and lodging. And temporal access, to make sure that those of you pulling double or triple duty in multiple jobs can still get the high quality training you deserve. This way, Streamline can be all places at all times, for anyone who needs it.

Yes, in some special circumstances we contract or agree to offer certain training content live. The challenges to this include that it tends to be more expensive for both consumers and hosts, and that being in one specific location offering a training means we can't be anywhere else at the same time, so it limits access. But if you have a special need for something live, feel free to get in touch to chat about it.  

You can read more about this here, but basically - there is a 100% guaranteed refund policy at anytime prior to passing a final post-test. We can't give you a refund after you've gotten your CE certificate and bonus materials (those are processed automatically after you pass your final post-test). But at any point before that just fill out the form here, and we'll process a no-questions-asked refund. We'll ask for feedback so we can get better, but it's not required!

Believe it or not, these are priced fairly low within the CE landscape. First off, pre-recorded CEs are often more expensive than in-person ones. It takes a great deal more effort to deliver the content this way, with editing and loading into a platform. Additionally, it is harder to control things like unauthorized sharing of the content, so the product is priced with that in mind. On the positive side for the consumer, you get flexibility about when you watch, and you're not paying for a plane ticket and a hotel room, either.

We're consistent with the going rate for pre-recorded CE's, which typically ranges from $50-300 per credit hour. We're on the low end of that even though more specialized topics like this often have lower margins because there is a smaller pool of possible customers. There aren't opportunities for sponsorship or grants with such a small target for sales - so it's all produced out of our pocket and we're taking a risk that there will be enough people interested to cover our costs, with a little left over to make it worthwhile.

Each training takes more than half a year to produce. Paying for the platform and marketing and APA accreditation costs are pretty staggering, against something that takes a great many hours to create. That's probably part of why there aren't many quality CE platforms out there with a forensic specialty. Most of them just end up recording someone giving a live lecture - there's nothing wrong with that per se, except it's not particularly geared toward the unique needs of an online learning.  But ultimately, if there aren't enough forensic psychologists to purchase the courses priced as they are, unfortunately the costs could go up in the future.

It's taken two years to get Streamline off the ground. Part of that effort has been the plan and work to start with these three flagship courses. We have two more courses in planned development for 2023 and beyond. After that, who knows where this will take us? We are hoping that you, our attendees, will be the ones to suggest future courses because our goal is to give clinicians more of what you need to be successful. But to start out here, we need proof of concept - to see that there are forensic psychologists out there who are interested in what Streamline has to offer.
